The Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) is a non-profit organization that works to
improve maternal and child health and well-being through outreach to high
risk communities and advocacy at the local, state and national level.
MCC's MOMobileSM program:
- uses brightly-colored mini-vans called MOMobiles for high visibility and
outreach in neighborhoods known to have high rates of infant mortality,
teenage pregnancy, poverty, child abuse and neglect.
- helps families negotiate health care and social service systems, linking
them to health care, behavioral health, nutrition, and welfare to work
programs through home-visiting and telephone follow-up by Client Advocates
- provides health education, parenting, HIV prevention and lead poisoning
reduction education.
- provides case management to families through the new baby's first
birthday to assure the full round of immunizations.
