Under the old system, reports were requested by the executive director and
program director to the MIS Manager who produced them in a manner
transparent to the users.
The new reports process is structured, collaborative, interactive and
documented:
- It is team based, consisting of program directors, assistant directors
and project assistants
- Process begins with analysis of various contracts, either with managed
care organizations, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, or public
or foundation grant funders to determine the content, format and frequency
of reporting.
- Report requirements are listed, described and defined for programming.
The team makes use of data element descriptions from the data model in
defining the items for reports.
- The Report process has spawned a series of pre-report edits which results
in a systematic and continuous quality assurance process at the field sites.
- Field feedback also generates system and procedure enhancements
