Consistent with HLN’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based guidelines in the open-source Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE), ICE support for the 2026–2027 respiratory season will align with recommendations issued by leading medical societies (see Consolidated Respiratory Virus Season Immunization Recommendations), including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
What this means for ICE users:
- Influenza: ICE will continue to forecast seasonal influenza vaccination for individuals 6 months of age and older; support for the new mRNA influenza vaccine will be added
- RSV: ICE will continue to recommend seasonal RSV mAb for all infants through 7 months of age, conditionally recommend RSV mAb for high-risk infants 8 through 19 months of age and RSV vaccine for adults at increased risk, and recommend a single lifetime dose of RSV vaccine for all adults age 75 and older
- COVID-19: ICE will be updated to reflect the start of the 2026–2027 season, with evaluation and forecasting aligned accordingly
ICE updates to support the new mRNA influenza vaccine and the 2026–2027 COVID-19 season are our highest priorities. We expect these updates to be available soon. Subscribe to ICE Announcements to be notified when the new release is available and contact us at ice@hln.com with any questions.
