What’s New in ICE
Clinical logic updates
- Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B: Added support for Twinrix series. Added cross vaccine group coordination to align Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B series recommendations if appropriate.
- Polio: Improved support for adult polio immunization. Added supplemental text to the evaluation of unspecified polio (CVX 89) to indicate that depending on the administered product, additional protection may be needed.
- COVID-19 Pandemic: For shots prior to 9/12/2023 only, relaxed the evaluation logic for select vaccinations to potentially be marked Valid.
Technical improvements
- Reduced service start-up time and improved response times for initial requests.
- Converted supporting data from XML to YAML, allowing runtime values to be modified via start-up parameters, offering additional flexibility in deployment.
Enhanced traceability to clinical guidelines
- The ICE wiki now features expanded documentation on rule alignment with clinical guidelines from schedule authorities (e.g., ACIP/CDC, AAP, AAFP) across all vaccine groups. Read more on the Clinical Guidelines page.
