On November 18, 2025, HLN released a new version of the open-source Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) software, with support for professional medical society-aligned COVID-19 recommendations for the 2025-2026 respiratory season, mpox updates, and a technical upgrade. ICE is a state-of-the-art open source software system that provides clinical decision support for immunizations for use in Immunization Information Systems (IIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Personal Health Record (PHR) Systems.
The latest release supports evidence-based COVID-19 guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for patients through age 18 years and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for children, adolescents, and adults. The release follows input from the ICE Advisory Group and HLN’s re-affirmed commitment to sourcing ICE updates from evidence-based guidelines. In addition to the COVID-19 updates, the release includes important updates for the Mpox vaccine group and an update to Java 21.
