NACCHO360 had an unprecedented turnout with more than 3,500 participants joining both in Detroit and online. The conference focused on the theme of “Sharing Information: Working Together for Better Public Health,” and provided an opportunity for local health departments to learn, connect, and share their experiences and best practices. Attendees on-site engaged in over 200 sessions, plenaries, poster sessions, and networking events, and explored a comprehensive exhibit hall.
PHI*con was aligned with NACCHO360 with a focus on Public Health Informatics, surveillance, and IT. The theme for this year, “Driving Data Modernization,” focused on how to effectively serve communities in our information-driven era. It underscored the need for public health and its cross-sector partners to enhance their ability to convert data into actionable outcomes, such as services, interventions, and policies.
The HLN team attended both PHI*con and NACCHO360 with a presence at the exhibit hall. The team also presented a session during the PHI*con portion of the conference:
The presentation emphasized the critical role of adopting the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard for public health interoperability and data modernization. Initiatives such as the Helios FHIR Accelerator for Public Health are actively promoting this adoption. The session showcased use cases for FHIR data exchange, implemented by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Hennepin County Public Health (HCPH), Rhode Island Department of Health, and HLN Consulting.
