In late 2023 Sequoia released version 2 of its FHIR Roadmap for TEFCA Exchange. This rather brief document updates an earlier version which was released for comment in October 2022 (see our earlier blog post on that version). The plan calls for increasing levels of QHIN-provided services aimed at facilitating the exchange of data using the FHIR standard.
There is no particular mention of public health, and it is not particularly clear how this network will enable or facilitate public health-related data exchange. Stay tuned as this functionality continues to be discussed and to develop.
